Following the success of the first edition of E2Forum, the exhibition/conference dedicated to the elevator sector, the E2Forum Lab was held in Milan, an event dedicated to the issues related to the design and management of installations in sensitive areas of our country. The event, organized by Messe Frankfurt Italia and promoted by ANIE AssoAscensori in collaboration with ANACAM and ANICA, focused on the theme of Building Installation System Security: Design and Management in Countries at Seismic Risk. The E2Forum Lab touches on a very topical issue since a high percentage of the population of Italy lives in areas at risk and in buildings constructed prior to the territory’s seismic classification.
The event brought together industry and sector professionals such as Paolo Augliera (Director of the Milan Section of the National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology), Stefan Kaczmarczyk (Professor of Applied Mechanics at the University of Northampton), Engineer Giovanni Azzone (Professor at the Department of Management Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and Project Manager at Casa Italia), Engineer Vito Cristino of the Provincial Command of the Milan Fire Brigade, Engineer Roberto Turino (Director of the C.A.S.E. Housing Project L’Aquila) and Paolo Riva (Professor at the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Bergamo) specifically to discuss this emergency.
The Scientific Committee was chaired by the newly elected Alessandro Greco – Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University of Pavia – and consists of academics and qualified operators within the elevator industry.
