Florence is well worth … a boutique

Posted on

Marni’s retail dimension expands with the opening of a boutique in Florence in the exclusive Via Roma.
The flagship store is on the ground floor of a historic building and features precious materials combined with the well-defined geometric shapes that are typical of the brand’s interior design. Two illuminated concave sculptural elements dominate the large double-height windows, introducing the theme of the circle which is a distinctive feature of the store’s architecture.
The sales area is made up of three rooms which offer a carefully chosen selection of women’s collections. The visitor is welcomed in an area dedicated to bags and small leather goods and then continues into a space reserved for ready-to-wear and finally towards an intimate corner inspired by footwear.
Another dominant theme is the material contrast that runs through the entire display area: coarse-finished cement gives life to shelves and floors enriched with circular inserts of white marble and carpet. A polished steel case, set in the wall, divides the space by housing the selection dedicated to glasses while the lighting in the room dedicated to clothing is provided by an elliptical skylight in a bright shade of red which echoes the graphic inserts in the floor.
The iconic wave shape of the steel rails that characterize all the Marni boutiques opens up into two large petals which extend as far as the window and function as a striking display element.
