At the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II the Prada Foundation Observatory is presenting an anthological exhibition of the Japanese photographer Satoshi Fujiwara. The exhibition entitled EU and curated by Luigi Alberto Cippini will be held from June 7th to October 16th 2017 and will includes some of the artist’s most significant works.
Through his unique style Satoshi Fujiwara (Kobe, Japan, 1984) manages to impose a pressing and critical action on the observer, deviating from the standard canons of photojournalism and thus producing a new and particular language.

The exhibition is divided into two sections: the first part, housed on the lower floor of the Observatory, reconstructs the “5K Confinement” commission – a research project into contemporary image production proposed by the Foundation – while the second floor hosts a retrospective that expands and brings together a collection of images taken in different European capitals.
The 5K Confinement commission bears witness to the spatial and architectural intervention within Ca ‘Corner della Regina, the Prada Foundation’s Venice home. Fujiwara dealt with the architectural installation of the project, documenting the technological installation and revealing the integrated surveillance equipment.
