One of the leading features of the 2017 Salone del Mobile was the impressively spacious FLEXFORM stand designed by the architect Antonio Citterio. It maintained the brand’s classic concept of dividing the living area into little islands gathered around masterpiece products and introduced a new architectural element in the form of a small inner courtyard with shrubs and green plants around which the new collections were displayed. The stand’s impressive backdrop wall is in amaranthine Levanto marble while the discreet clear travertine of the floor extends as far as the walls to establish a neutral colour frame. A loft area is home to the workspaces which are conceived as an authentic lounge area, a domestic space that exudes an air of calm and relaxation.
The Citterio-designed products on display in the Flexform space include the Adda and Este sofas, the Tosca armchair and the Zefiro and Monreale tables while the Taylor day pieces, the Century system, the Newbridge bed and the Cabarè coffee table were designed by Carlo Colombo. The result is a space and series of collections characterized by a linear and essential elegance. For more information visit the www.flexform.it website.
