When curves dictate style

Posted on

There’s no doubt about it – eyewear is heading in a precise direction: sinuosity and curves that expresses themselves through lines that interact with each other, intertwine or never meet.

Marni’s creative approach, based on contrasting proportions and nuances, perfectly embodies this trend with Marni Calder, the star frame of the Autumn/Winter 2018 collection. This metal frame boasts an elegant round silhouette characterized by a reverse mounted bridge and an exclusive mirror effect on the external profile of the lenses. The sinuous lines of the eyebrows and the temples complete the avant-garde design.
Marni Calder will be available from the beginning of January 2019 in all Marni boutiques and selected dealers, as well as on the company’s website.

The historic collaboration between Mykita and Maison Margiela saw the creation of the innovative Craft line, also likely to become an icon of this particular mood.
The sophisticated machining of the metals, with numerous bends and curves, transforms thin sheets of steel into delicate, three-dimensional constructions. The lenses with their intense colours are captured in a single metallic frame that evokes the style of Victorian jewels. The collection reinvents this historical and ornamental aesthetic and transposes it into a modern and functional context.
