SEIMILANO, the new urban regeneration project that will be built between Via Calchi Taeggi and Via Bisceglie has just been presented at Palazzo Marino. Located a short distance from the metro station and covering an area of over 300,000 square metres, it will comprise residences, offices, a commercial square, public functions and a large urban park of 200,000 square metres with fully equipped green areas.
The SEIMILANO master plan has been created by MCA Mario Cucinella Architects while the design of the park has been entrusted to the International Michel Desvigne – MDP Studio. The project will be developed by Borio Mangiarotti Spa in partnership with the American Värde fund while the Solidarnosc cooperative is also a partner in the initiative for a small share of space equal to about 6.5% of the total.
Once the land reclamation has been completed, the first construction phases of the project will be launched which will include more than 1,000 residences, 26 thousand square metres of offices and 8 thousand square metres dedicated to commercial activities. The theme of the landscape is at the heart of SEIMILANO which will see the park as the dominant feature with alternating wooded areas, lines of trees, orchards, meadows, vegetable gardens, waterways and irrigation channels.
Particular attention will be given to the themes of sustainable mobility, digital connection and technological implementation of the area thanks to the partnership with Microsoft.
The fundamental aim of the intervention is to transform the area into a unique and innovative place: a new mixed use district, set in a large, well-equipped, safe park that is alive and accessible 24 hours a day and with its own identity in which to develop a sense of belonging.
